Carolyn Taylor, M.D. Dr. Taylor has been practicing neurology in Bellingham since 2001, after relocating to Washington State from the Philadelphia area where she practiced with a large single-specialty group in addition to serving as Medical Director of the Parkinson Outreach Program. Drawn to the specialty of neurology for the opportunity of working with patients on a personal level, she has been in practice since 1993 and was board certified in 1994. She currently practices general neurology with a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuro-opthalmology.
Dr. Taylor was among the first class of women to graduate from the University of Notre Dame, where she completed her undergraduate studies in 1976. After earning a doctorate degree in optometry in 1981 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and practicing for four years, she entered Hahnemann Medical College and received her medical degree in 1989. Following a year of internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, she completed her neurology residency in 1993 at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Taylor was the recipient of the Humaneness in Medicine Award from the Philadelphia Medical Society and has been honored as one of the Top Doctors for Women by Philadelphia Magazine. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Washington Neurological Society, the American College of Physicians and the Tom Dooley Medical Society. Dr. Taylor has participated in numerous clinical trials and frequently lectures to the community on topics of interest in neurology.
Elizabeth Morrison M.D., M.S.Ed. Dr. Morrison is a multiple sclerosis specialist who practiced at Northwest Neurology and the Cascadia MS Center from September, 2008 through December, 2009. She completed medical school at Brown University in Providence, RI, family medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, CA, and a Master’s degree in medical education at the University of Southern California (USC). After completing fellowship training in multiple sclerosis at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2005, she became Voluntary Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the Keck-USC School of Medicine and practiced at the Los Angeles County-USC Multiple Sclerosis Center before moving to Bellingham. Dr. Morrison has received several awards including the UCI Humanism in Medicine Award and Orange County Physicians of Excellence. She is currently working in southern California but remains a part of Northwest Neurology, collaborating with Dr. Taylor on educational and outreach projects. Kate Gueno, L.P.N. Kate Gueno joined Northwest Neurology in August 2008. Kate is a recent graduate of Bellingham Technical College Nursing Program and an M.S. Certified Specialist with the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers.
Prior to her employment at NWN, she worked in a skilled care environment where she assisted people with disabilities. Her cheerful demeanor and unique ability to advocate for patients has been a tremendous asset to the our practice.
Gail Pratt-Shea, R.N.
Gail Pratt-Shea, RN is an important member of our clinical team. Gail handles the intravenous infusions in our office with a skillful and gentle approach.
Evelyn Kooistra Evelyn Kooistra is the newest addition to our team at Northwest Neurology and the Cascadia Multiple Sclerosis Center. Evelyn runs the front office and is often the one to greet you on the phone or when you enter the office. She does a great job working with our patients and staff.
